The week approaching USC, and “unsettled” weather was forecast for the weekend, but the sun shone for a large part of the weekend, and many unwary show-goers left with glowing sunburn!
The Run What Ya Brung competition is a major element of USC, and runs for all three days, with some fast times being set from the word “go”. Over 1,200 people signed-on for the RWYB, making the battles for each class all the more epic. The winners were declared at 5pm on Sunday as:

Another major attraction at USC is the top-notch music, with massive club nights from Gatecrasher and Fantasia in the big top, old-skool rave music in Fuelers Bar and hip-hop and urban beats on the Fuel Stage, headlined on Saturday night by Goldie Lookin Chain, who had the massive crowd going absolutely bonkers!
Running twice on both Saturday and Sunday were stunt shows in the Live Action Arena, featuring world-record breaking stunt driver Terry Grant, drifting, beach buggies and half-nude ladies in the Fuel Shows, and monster trucks closing the stunt sessions with thundering car-crushing power.
Also taking place in the Live Action Area was the flame-out competition on Saturday night and the burn-out competition on Sunday lunchtime. The flame out contest was won by Michael Clark for the second year in a row with his flaming Fiesta, which set fire to the tarmac and the back of his car with 20ft flames! The burnout competition was won by a chap who drove his new-shape Mustang all the way from Qatar to shred some of those super-cool tyres that smoke red. With huge clouds of red smoke and a V8 soundtrack, the crowd gave a massive cheer to hand him the trophy.
The Mr & Miss USC competition took place on Saturday evening, and a full line-up of 10 guys and girls took to the stage to battle through 3 mini games eliminating contestants along the way. With the guys doing press-ups, downing contests and muscle measuring, and the girls getting down to the serious business of opening bananas with their teeth and bursting balloons with their bums, it was a hilarious and ultimately extremely rude competition. Steve Monk became this year’s Mr USC with his Borat-style mankini barely covering his wiry frame, and Gemma Loren Guest is this year’s Miss USC, who won the crowd over with a brave performance and seriously cute good looks. Well done to everyone that took part.
There was no shortage of exposed flesh at Marangoni USC, with full-on strip shows in the Big Top, pole dance shows in Fuelers bar, a very rude and riotous booty-shakin’ contest on the Fuel Stage on Friday night (won by last year’s Miss USC – Becky Richardson), and none of the girls will forget the naughty nude show by the dreamboys…
On Sunday, the “shine” was put into the Autoglym Show & Shine contest by the very welcome sight of bright sunlight and clear skies, and over 140 cars turned up to take part in the contest. With so many cars in the show, it was a real shame that certain cars went away without trophies, but the judging was epically difficult. The winners were finally awarded the trophies after some major deliberation, view the Show & Shine winners on the Show & Shine winners page.
On track, Sunday also saw the Euro Sports Compact drag series have its final round, with Andy Waite in his VW Golf making it 3 out of 3 to take the win and the championship against Mark Gunns in his Corrado.
A massive thanks to everyone that came to the show. We hope you had a great time. We are sorry that there was a bit of mud around due to recent heavy rainfalls, and we appreciate your patience with this.
See you next year! USC 2010 is planned for the 6th-8th August.
